I take photo-retouching challenges. I finally got a copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 (I gave up groceries for the year. It's cool, I need to lose weight anyway) and I'm having a killer good time learning how to use it properly.
This is a challenge posted on Retouchpro.com - it's actually a much larger photo, but I decided to focus on the face and skin first as my old techniques (Gaussian Blur, Art History Brush) just wasn't gonna cut it.
This is probably 3/4 done - I need to take care of that weird greeny/yellow burn thing going on on the jawline, plus I want to fiddle with the color and the nails and the hair and the makeup and...
Well, DIGITAL plastic surgery anyway.
I present Megan-DAMN I wish I were Angelina Jolie-Fox. You know, that chick with the banging body in Transformers, but wore enough makeup for an entire tranny village? She's actually really kind of scary up close. But thanks to the magic of Photoshop, she can look less like a candidate for a Proactiv infomercial and more MAXIM-covergirl-y.
....but I have pricked myself too many times with a needle, I've accidentally burned my fingers a few times. So enough with the pirate costumes. Time for some photoshopping action.
I present everyone's favorite butterface...Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas.
She's a totally different person without the bad plastic surgery! She could be sooooo hottttt....
P.S. I used several techniques on Fugly Ferg. Using Photoshop:
1) I used Liquify to fix her scary chin implant, add some cheekbones, fix her pug nose, reduce her obscenely puffy lips.
2) used the cloning tool to remove major weird stuff - wrinkles, spots, etc
3) I used gaussian blur then the art history brush on several settings
(normal, overlay, soft light, lighten, darken, luminosity) on her
skin. It's basically like painting: cheekbones and all areas that
the light hits gets lightened/luminous, and I darkened shadowy areas.
4) I used adjustment layers (I think 7 in total) to make her eyes greener, the whites of her
eyes whiter, made her hair more glossy and reddish rather than that
dull blonde, made her lips and blush pinker. I also used a saturate layer to make her skin tanner rather than leathery.
5) I used the burn tool to make her eyelashes pop, and the sharpen tool on her eyes.
I think that's pretty much it. I'm still trying to learn proper masking so I can fix
backgrounds and remove flyaway hair. I'd suggest tooling around with
Photoshop and checking out retouchpro.com for tips and tricks - that's where I learned how to make magic with photoshop
I'll be the first to admit it: I am obsessed with the Beckhams. Originally, it was purely because Becks is HOT SHIT. Holy Flying Spaghetti Monster, he's a stunner. I can eat 3 servings of THAT, please.
But now, I'm equally obsessed with Posh. She's hot in that "starved alien" kind of way. Nanu-nanu, Posh!
This photo was taken during NY Fashion Week. She's working that outfit, but dude, she looks awful. What happened to her skin? I decided to bring her back to her usual fantastic, super-airbrushed perfection. Live long and prosper, Mrs. Beckham, live long and prosper.
So I follow a board (RetouchPRO) for tricks and techniques for better photoshopping goodness. They have a section for retouching challenges and this was the result. She's so ready for a magazine cover.
*note: I hope I don't get into trouble for posting the image here. Oh well, I guess if they have a problem with it, I can always take it down.
Taaadaaaaa! Here is my favorite butterface subject, the object of my fascination. I Love finding photos of Fergie because...well...let's face it. She's had some REALLY bad plastic surgery.
I'm still relatively new to photo retouching, but these turned out pretty good. Well, I guess ANYTHING would have been an improvement.
...You end up blogging constantly. It doesn't help that VOX is so shiny and pretty and fun to update. Fuck.
So I'm randomly going through tutorials (for work! You know, photoshop and dreamweaver and cool tips and tricks), and I was thinking about my large body of photoshop retouching work. I'm surprisingly good, and utterly fascinated, with the magic of photoshop. I think I'll start posting pics of my retouched photos. What I usually retouch are photos of celebs caught with no makeup, or hideous makeup, or awful plastic surgery. My favorite subject: Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas. She's the classic "Butter Face;" hot bod, BUT HER FACE!!!
Keep an eye out here for examples of my magical skillz. My tools: my sexy desktop, my mouse and Photoshop 6.0. With these things, I can conquer the world!
